Despite Lisa's obvious love for performing and desire to be in the spotlight, it was not until her late teens that she decided she would drop everything, uproot her life, and move across the country to study music. Previously on track to become a dental hygienist a year out of high school, she switched gears; and like a plot twist on the silver screen, Lisa dove head first into the deep end to develop her musical career. As a lifelong musician, she realized that she had always known her purpose, and had to pursue it. Lisa embraces the intense and competitive Berklee curriculum by achieving Dean’s List while writing, recording and performing. As someone who is led by her heart, every day she is proud to make the choice to follow her passion.
Fifteen years after performing her first original song for an audience, Lisa prepares to release her single “One Chance” to the world this year, Winter 2023. “One Chance” combines elements of jazz, disco, pop and funk with the sweet lyrics of young love and longing. “One Chance” is a “great song, refreshingly upbeat”!
While writing and recording new original music for Lisa's upcoming 6-track EP, she shows a relatable perspective of life through the lens of a post-covid, coming-of-age woman. Though she embraces innovation and technological advancements, her music shows that she has fallen in love with a classic sound. Her lyrics resonate with the universal themes of love and passion; and her bright, pristine vocals bring a fresh element to the ageless sound of a live band.
Although Lisa's vocal style is often compared to Linda Ronstadt, ABBA, and the Carpenters, Lisa’s musical journey has been an endless exploration of various sounds and genres, and she feels the most artistically fulfilled when combining them. Musically, she strives to write and arrange with the funky soul of Motown, the rich tension of jazz, and the catchy, hooky melodies of pop. Citing the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Stacey Ryan, and Meghan Trainor among her iconic influences has led Lisa to identify retro pop as her musical home. With the willingness to utilize her own experiences and vulnerability, and such a deep appreciation for music of the past and present, Lisa has never had a problem connecting with audiences of all ages.
